Yesterday I asked my daugter, What would it take to make today Epic? She didn't answer. But today I got the answer! This morning I deliberated whether or not I should do my devotions in my arm chair or in bed. The adult response would have been 'make your bed and do your devotions in your armchair with your cup of coffee, showered and dressed and ready for the day.' But what I really wanted was to completely relax while I was reading and so I chose to climb back into my bed and it was an epic choice! Then this evening I decided to try tuna steak in my tacos instead of chicken as an additional healthy option. This was a little risky because it could have been totally gross, but it ended up also being another epic choice for dinner tonight and will become part of our regular delightful menu. So having an epic day isn't necessarily about how exciting your day is planned but in the small choices finding what lights you up, what brings you Joy, and what makes you want to do it again! Take a new world view. Look back. What do you see?
In the last nine months I have shed unhealthy attachments, especially to people who expected more of me than I could give. I have prioritized family as the most important thing to focus on keeping healthy through this pandemic. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. I have looked at my life with a critical eye with the extra time and asked, "Why do I do this?" I have been careful to make my small piece of the world a steady and positive place in the midst of uncertainty. And with Gods help we have had a lot of joy and peace! Our hearts have grown closer. What if everyone made their own little corner a great place to be instead of judging and criticizing everyone else? Soon we will have transformed the planet! I don't know what I want to do with my life! I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing with my life! I am so confused! There must be a better way to live than this!

Well today I'm asking Jesus what He would like to share and all I could get is this crazy hyper happy feeling! Like bouncing off the walls, laughing on a major sugar high! You know the feeling you get when something BIG is going down, everything is going your way, and you just can't stand yourself you are so happy? Yeah, that's it! God's that HAPPY! about YOU! For the joy set before Him (YOU), Jesus endured the cross. Hebrews 12:2 Love, Affection, & Power
I asked the Lord today, "What are people hungry for from You today?" He responded with the above, and that people doubt His Existence and Lovingkindness because of His seeming lack of action in this global, mind boggling crisis. He asked me to remind us, His people Who call ourselves Christians, We are His hands and feet, to bring the Love, Affection & Power of God into every day life, for each person we meet. By Works, Faith is made perfect. James 2:22 This life is fleeting and all we get to take with us into eternity is what we have given away. Today will slip by quickly, Who will You share God's Love & Power with Today? Been embarrassed before? I have been very recently and it was not fun! And unlike the picture above I will not find it funny in the future!
We all know the red face, the sinking stomach, and the slight desire to hurl as we swallow pride and attempt to recover from the shock! But after the discomfort comes another feeling if we have handled the situation well, relief that we lived through it and didn't die and maybe even learned something. Even if it's just to not take ourselves too seriously! I had a chat with Jesus as this situation unfolded, and I could feel His laughter - as if to say - 'You got this girl!' It didn't make the situation any more fun, but it's easier KNOWING GOD HAS MY BACK! And He has yours too! Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WE SURRENDER! is what you usually hear from the losing side of an argument. BUT SOMTIMES it is the necessary next step to VICTORY!
When we set our intentions and do what we can to make them happen, the next step is SURRENDER! Surrender your projects and dreams to God and let Him inject His Artistry into your life! Now to Him Who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us! Ephesians 3:20 A few days ago I was visited by a family of blue jays, Not one or two, but five blue jays sat at my back door and flew around the house for most of the day delighting me with their playfulness! Now blue jays are my favorite birds because I love their beautiful colors and their intelligence. There are lot of birds here at my home, but seldom do the jays stop by for a visit, unless they find the cat food!
Then this weekend I had extra time on my hands to pray and worship and I again had the delight of feeling that Papa God is my favorite too. FAVORITES do something to us. That is why we like them so much! They bring delight to the soul and refresh the mind and emotions. Why is this important? Because right now it seems the whole world is trying to do the opposite continually! So today refresh your self with your Favorites! |
